Accepting Insurance

June 2018

Hey! It has once again been a while since Thera-Med has had some news! I am continually working on being consistent. It is important to me to not over correspond and to keep continued interactions with my clients as well as get the attention of potential new clients! My goal is always to provide superior service for my client/patient base with meaningful content as well as providing what the latest and greatest happenings are here at Thera-Med Massage, HTTM, LLC!

I had learned at the beginning of the year that American Specialty Health  is credentialing and contracting directly with Massage Therapists to help more of their customers get more holistic in their health care approach. I inquired and did the necessary things to become eligible to contract. It is a bit of a process, but as of June 1, 2018 I am officially a participating provider under their Alternative health plan American Specialty Health (ASH). Again, ASH, contracts with many insurances; what that means is that I can bill insurance based on coverage and benefits to which I can verify eligibility.

Another exciting moment of clarity is I can accept payment via HSA/FSA Health Savings Account/Flexible Spending Account. Where do you start to find out if you are covered under your Health savings? First, call your plan and find out if Massage services can be considered. Second, make an appointment with your doctor to obtain a prescription for the reason. It has to be headaches, sciatica, and injury – a treatable medical condition, not just I want a massage to relax. If you want more information about this process, please call, text or email me and I will help you.

Other coverage that is based solely case by case are those of auto accidents and personal injury. Based on insurance coverage, I can bill both of these types of cases directly. It is possible to accept attorney lien, however; that is by a case by case basis only.

I have wanted to work within this spectrum since I had started my own practice. I am excited to now be able to do so!
